Gov. Jay Nixon has selected one of three people put forward for the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority, a nomination that now requires approval by the Missouri Senate.

The board has one vacancy, and last month the Jackson County Legislature forwarded three names to Nixon: Aimee Gromowsky, a Kansas City attorney and former Jackson County assistant prosecuting attorney; Teresa Chu, a real estate contractor and attorney; and Ana Valdez, director of operations – Corporate Academy at Truman Medical Centers. On Tuesday, Nixon selected Gromowsky. Her term would run through July 31, 2017.

The Sports Authority oversees operations of Arrowhead and Kauffman stadiums, home of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.
