Two people were hurt – one of them hospitalized – in a Tuesday evening wreck on Interstate 70 in Blue Springs.
It involved two vehicles. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said it involved a tractor-trailer and an unknown vehicle, but the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District reported it was two tractor-trailers.
It happened around 7 p.m., east of Missouri 7. An eastbound vehicle driven by Travis J. Gosnell, 26, of Grandview went off the roadway to the left, went through the median cable and slammed head on into a 2011 Freightliner driven by Roger D. Childress, 44, of Easley, S.C.
An ambulance took Gosnell to Centerpoint Medical Center with moderate injuries. Childress had minor injuries and refused medical treatment. Both were wearing their seatbelts.
Both vehicles were totalled, and the Missouri Department of Transportation spent several hours clearing the scene.
