Between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday, May 3, many families from Grain Valley and the surrounding area participated in the Grand opening event held at Hannah’s Heart Art and Resource Center located on Main Street in Grain Valley.
After weeks of hard labor, the doors were finally ready to open to the public, and it was time to have some fun.
Each room was set up with different hands on activities for all ages. Computer animation, painting plaster masks and face painting just to name a few.
Sheree Foster, who owns the business, has a strong desire to help those who need it. This is one reason that she has made classes available for special needs children.
She became a foster mother when she was only 20 years old. Since that time, she has taken in more than 20 children, mostly teenagers. Foster continues to have a relationship with several of her former foster children.
This Christian based business offers an array of activities and classes for the young and not so young. For example pottery/ceramics, music lessons, dance classes, art, computer classes are all available on an individual or group basis.
Hannah’s H-Art Camps are being formed now. It is a four-day session, each day filled with creative art activities. Each child will have the opportunity to experience a variety of art mediums. For example ceramics, mixed media, painting, drawing, culture art, and 3-D graphics and animation.
The grand opening was a success. A good time was had by all. Families were happy interacting with each other during the time they spent at the event and were wearing smiles as they left.
