The Grammy Foundation and the Recording Academy are partnering to present the first Music Educator Award.
The award is open to any U.S.-based music teacher from kindergarten through college. This includes both public and private schools. Anyone can nominate a music teacher including fellow teachers, administrators, recording academy members, parents, students or community members. Teachers in after-school, private studios or other educational settings are not eligible.
Ten finalists will be selected, including one winner for their remarkable impact. The winner will be flown to Los Angeles, Calif. to accept the award and attend the Grammy Awards. They will also receive a $10,000 honorarium. All finalists will receive a $1,000 honorarium.
Nominations must be received by April 15.
