Students in Park University’s Ellen Finley Earhart Nursing Program will hold its annual health fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 11 in the Mabee Learning Center/Academic Underground on the university’s Parkville Campus. Admission to the health fair, which is open to the public, is free.
The theme of this year’s health fair is “Pirate for Life,” and will include free screenings for attendees, including blood pressure, blood glucose and depression. A variety of free health information also will be available on such topics as substance abuse, smoking cessation, disaster readiness, domestic/dating violence and sexually transmitted diseases. (STD testing will take place on the first floor of Thompson Commons.)
Flu shots will also be available for $30 for individuals wishing to self-pay (exact cash or check accepted). All insurance plans are accepted including United Healthcare, the university’s health care provider. No co-pay will be required for Park employees and students with Park’s United Healthcare insurance.
For more information about the health fair, contact Lisa Sneed at lisa.sneed@park.edu or by calling 816-584-6832.
