Blue Springs to host Night Out Against Crime

 The Blue Springs Police Department’s Community and Youth Outreach Unit is sponsoring its 14th annual National Night Out Against Crime next week.
The event is from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 2, 2012 at Main and 15th streets in downtown Blue Springs. This free family event brings together residents, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials for an evening focused on crime prevention and safety.
Blue Springs Councilman Dale Carter, who is also the morning show co-host for Country 94.1 KFKF, will emcee the event’s main stage. Entertainment includes an appearance from KC Wolf, a magic exhibition by former Mayor Steve Steiner and dancers from TaJazz School of Dance.
Among the participating organizations are – Central Jackson County Fire Protection District, Crime Stoppers/TIPS Hotline, Blue Springs Police Department STAT Team, Lee’s Summit Underwater Rescue and Recovery Team, Missouri Department of Transportation and many more.
The Blue Springs National Night Out sponsors include Target, UMB Bank, Price Chopper, Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce, Kennedy’s Custom Jewelers, Rancho Grande Cantina, Blue Springs Family YMCA, Panera Bread, McDonald’s McCamm, HyVee, Hilton Garden Inn, Independence, Mo., American Jazz Museum, Kansas City Zoo and Otto Car Wash.
