Mid-Continent Public Library has released its mobile application, MYMCPL, which is available on Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.

Through the app, users can access the library catalog, download eBooks and checkout their own library materials. Visit www.mymcpl.org/apps to learn more about the new feature.

“The new mobile app allows users to access the library in previously unthinkable ways,” Library Director Steven V. Potter said. “This makes searching the catalog and learning about books and movies before you buy a lot easier and a lot more convenient.”

The app includes the following features and functions:

– BookLook: This allows the user to scan the ISBN of any book, CD or DVD, and immediately check the availability and receive information about the title from the library.

– Self-Checkout: Users can select any available item and use their mobile device to checkout the item, right in the stacks.

– Live Homework Help, Mango Languages and Academic Search Premier: Children can instantly message tutors with Live Homework Help. Adults can learn a language with Mango Languages. Students can search for journal and magazine articles with Academic Search Premier.
