The metro area's air quality rating for Tuesday is yellow, meaning ozone concentrations are elevated but not high enough to issue a warning.
To help keep conditions from getting worse, officials suggest cutting down on driving, fueling up in the evening and keeping engines of autos and lawnmowers in good working order.
The Mid-America Regional Council's skycast runs green, yellow, orange and red. Orange and red are alerts. The area has had eight orange alerts so far this year. There hasn't been a red alert since 2006.
