Despite the heat, the walk must go on.
The city of Independence Wednesday morning is continuing its “The Mile Starts Here” program as part of the Building a Healthier Independence initiative. It starts at 9 a.m. at Clothier Park, 17203 E. 23rd St., near the former Medical Center of Independence.
The mile-long walks will continue through Sept. 26. Visit www.BuildingaHealthierIndependence.org for the complete schedule.
