Missouri Highway Patrol have in custody a suspect who they said fled from police and led them on a high-speed chase on Interstate 70 Wednesday afternoon.

The pursuit started in Independence following a domestic disturbance. Police were called and the vehicle fled the area, heading onto eastbound I70 shortly before 2:45 p.m. Wednesday. Police chased the vehicle, which reached speeds of about 110 mph, into Grain Valley.

The suspect bailed out of the car south of the football field in Grain Valley and police pursued him, eventually taking him into custody at about 3:30 p.m.

No other information was available.
