Little Blue Elementary in eastern Independence is getting ready for the first day of school, and families are invited to an Open House celebration later this week.
The Open House is at 6 p.m. Thursday at the school, 2020 Quail Dr.
Students and families will be able to tour the new school and participate in a variety of other activities. In addition, Little Blue’s mascot will be revealed. Principal Jeff Williams, along with parents, students and community members narrowed the list of potential mascots to five. The list includes - Badgers, Blue Herons, Blue Jays, Hawks and Sharks.
