Independence has a new café.

Gallery Café opened this week inside The Fountains at Greenbriar, 2100 S. Swope Drive, for its residents and the entire community alike. The menu changes daily and includes fresh house-made specials, including Mediterranean lentil soup, smoke turkey panini, pesto focaccia sandwich, yogurt parfaits and lemon squares, among others.

It’s open from 1 to 3 p.m. each day.

“Variety is the spice of life, and the Gallery Café is a very exciting new addition to our community,” Desiree Rogers, executive director of The Fountains, said in a news release. “We welcome neighbors to stop in for a delicious lunch during the week and see our thriving community.”
