The Jackson County COMBAT program will hold a town hall meeting on prescription and over-the-counter drug abuse next week in Blue Springs.
It’s from 6 p.m. to 7:30 Wednesday in the education center at St. Mary’s Medical Center, 201 N.W. R.D. Mize Road.
Staff from COMBAT – the county’s quarter-cent Community Backed Anti-Drug Sales Tax – will talk about how to safely store prescription and over-the-counter drugs; as well as how to properly dispose of expired drugs. Health-care professionals and substance abuse experts will also speak about prescription and over-the-counter drug abuse.
Similar meetings are being held from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the Nutter Ivanhoe Neighborhood Center, 3700 Woodland Avenue, Kansas City, and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Guadalupe Center, 1015 Avenida Cesar E.Chavez, Kansas City.
