Before the Giants and Patriots take the field for Super Bowl XLVI, listen to Jan Kraybill’s organ performance in her Super Bowl Sunday Recital XIII.

Kraybill, the principal organist for Community of Christ since 1998, will continue her annual tradition at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Community of Christ Temple, 201 S. River Blvd. The show is free and will end in time for attendees to make it home to watch the Super Bowl, Kraybill said.

This year’s recital, “Second Acts,” features composers who reinvented themselves and their art forms during their lifetimes. Jane Chu, CEO of the brand-new Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City, also will talk about the Kauffman Center’s new Casavant organ, the “younger sister” to the Temple’s organ. The new Casavant will make its debut performance in sold-out performances on March 10 and 11.

Check out Saturday’s edition of The Examiner for more on Kraybill and her Super Bowl Sunday Recital, which attracts about 500 guests annually.
