Dogs will get the last lap in Adventure Oasis Water Park several days earlier than originally planned this year.
Waggin’ at the Water Park is now taking place from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 14 at 2100 S. Hub Drive, north of 23rd Street and next to Fire Station 7. The park is closing for human visitors on Aug. 12, but the canines can come out before the pool is drained for the season.
Admission is $5 per dog. Concessions will be available for owners at the Oasis Grill, and a variety of pet-related booths also will be set up.
Adventure Oasis is closing several weeks early this year as a cost-savings measure for Independence Parks and Recreation. Participants must adhere to the following rules at Waggin’ at the Water Park:
– Only dogs are allowed in the water. No humans will be allowed to play in the water.
– Aggressive dogs are not allowed.
– One dog is allowed per adult. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
– Owners must pick up after their dogs.
