The city of Independence has decided to support the Independence School District’s plans for the former Rockwood Golf Club.
The City Council Monday night met in executive session prior to its regular study session to discuss Rockwood, a subject that is allowed for a closed session since it is a matter of real estate.
According to a statement issued by the city, council members discussed the Rockwood Golf Club and various options that have been presented for use of the property. A school district representative also was present and outlined the district’s interest in Rockwood.
“After consideration, the council will support the Independence School District’s plans for the property,” the statement reads.
