Eastern Jackson County, MO —
A bicyclist taking part in a charity ride was struck by a vehicle on U.S. 24 and killed this morning.
Scott A. Mocley, 32, of Lexington, Mo., was driving his 2002 Subaru westbound just west of Route H when he struck the rear wheel of the bicycle ridden by Michael D. Forbes, 48, of Independence.
The accident occured just after 8 a.m. Forbes was pronounced dead at the scene.
