The Sprint Foundation has awarded Hope House a $15,000 grant to its Guardian Program, which serves families with a history of family violence, sexual assault, stalking, mental illness or substance abuse.

The program provides monitored exchange, an exchange of children between custodial and non-custodial parents facilitated by program staff for off-site visitation with no contact between the parents; supervised visitation, which involves sessions between non-custodial parents and their children at the visitation center, monitored by a licensed therapist or master’s degree-level therapy intern; and therapeutic visitation, which involves on-site sessions between non-custodial parents and their children during which a licensed therapist or master’s degree-level therapy intern intervenes in and guides the sessions.

With Sprint’s support, Hope House anticipates the Guardian Program will serve 130 children from 75 families in the coming year. Visit www.hopehouse.net for more information on Hope House and its prevention, education and support services.
