FBI searching for bank robbery suspect

The FBI is investigating a bank robbery in Independence Monday morning.
 Tom Gentry, public information officer for the Independence Police Department, said the Bank of America branch, 17410 E. U.S. 24, was robbed just after 9 a.m. The suspect is described as a tall, slender male in his late 50s or early 60s who was wearing a bandana over his face and sunglasses. He also had gray hair.
“An undisclosed amount of money was taken,” Gentry said about the robbery. “He showed a gun, but there were on injuries reported.”
The FBI is currently interviewing witnesses and are searching for they suspect. Anyone with information should call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
