After traveling across the United States for most of November, including a Nov. 17 stop in Independence, the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree lighting is taking place today in Washington, D.C.
Those interested in viewing the ceremonies can watch it online at www.thenationaltree.org/tree-lighting/ or, beginning Friday, public television stations nationwide will air the 2012 National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony throughout the holiday season. Locally, KCPT will air the ceremony at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18.
