The Grain Valley Chamber of Commerce reminds its members and the rest of the community that its December luncheon – coming up in less than two weeks – is a fundraiser for a local group that does much for residents.
The luncheon is at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 4 at the Community Center, 713 Main St. The chamber’s hope is to raise $2,000 for the Grain Valley Assistance Council, money to help people in need during the holidays.
St. Mary’s Medical Center is sponsoring the luncheon, so everyone eats free. It’s open to the public.
The hope is for cash donations plus items valued at $10 or more to auction off. Also, canned foods and Target and Wal-Mart gift cards are welcomed. The chamber says it’s running short of auction items and asks those who might help to call the office at 816-847-2627.
