The Independence Police Department has canceled a Missing Person/Silver Alert issued Thursday morning for a 57-year-old man.
David L. Hess, who went missing between 4:30 and 5 a.m. from his home in the 1500 block of North Spring Street, had walked to the VA Hospital in Kansas City and asked for a ride home, according to Independence Police Department spokesman Tom Gentry.
A relative responded and returned Hess to his home safely.
