The Grain Valley Education Foundation has announced the classroom grants that have been awarded for the fall 2012 semester.
The applications were evaluated by a panel of educators and retired teachers and based on the criteria of purpose, plan, assessment and evaluation and budget.
The following seven grants, submitted by a total of 16 teachers, were given and total $3,914.
These include - Interactive Projection Connection, Michelle Peterson, Sni-A-Bar Elementary; Fire Up Readers and Writers with Mark Twain, Emily Twiehaus, Prairie Branch; My Thoughts into Words, Amanda Chrisman, Grain Valley South; “i” Leap For Learning!, Ellie Fries, Jolaina Kirn, Aubree Bredemeier, Sarah Steffens and Angela Danzo, Prairie Branch; “Will you play with me? Let’s pretend...,” Jessica Porter, Early Childhood Center; Reader’s Workshop – Incorporating Genre Study, Christina Stark, Laurie Skinner and Amber Dickey, Matthews Elementary and Fluency Home Project, Sonya Manz, Maranda Hanke, Melanie McCord and Ann Marie Doughty, Stony Point.
