The Mid-America Regional Council, as part of the regionwide Creating Sustainable Places effort, is working with Kansas City, Independence, Blue Springs, Lee’s Summit and Lake Tapawingo in creating an overall vision for the U.S. 40 corridor in Jackson County.
Two public open house meetings will take place in Eastern Jackson County this month for residents to learn more about this effort:
n Independence: 5 to 8 p.m., with presentations at 5:30 and 7 p.m., Aug. 28 at Noland Road Baptist Church, 4505 S. Noland Road.
n Blue Springs: 5 to 8 p.m., with presentations at 5:30 and 7 p.m., Aug. 30 at William Bryant Elementary School, 1101 S.E. Sunnyside School Road.
