Three Missouri State Fair highlights for Friday:
• Energy Day, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., MO-Ag Theatre, across the street and a little north of the grandstand. Also, free CFL lightbulbs, while supplies last, in the Missouri Electric Cooperatives Building next door.
• Butterfly gardening, 3 p.m., consumer showcase stage, Home Economics Building.
• Missouri State Fair Championship Bull Riding, 7 p.m. State Fair Arena, southwest corner of the fairgrounds, $12 for adults, $6 for ages 6 to 12.
Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors (60 and older), $2 for kids 6 to 12, and free for children 5 and younger. Parking at the fair is free. There is VIP parking for $5. The gates are open from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and most exhibit buildings are open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The fair runs through Sunday.
