All day next Tuesday, and possibly overnight and into mid-day Wednesday, Crackerneck Road will be closed at the KC Southern railroad crossing in Independence.
The closing is necessary to KC Southern can rebuild the crossing. According to the city of Independence, drainage erosion is undermining the crossing, so KCS is doing a complete rebuild of the crossing, with city assistance for traffic control and asphalt paving.
