The fourth annual Memorial Day flag raising ceremony at Fairmount Plaza Apartments is set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
The event is to honor Fairmount Plaza Senior veterans. Sugar Creek police will be raise the flag, and VFW Post 1738 will do the salute. A World War II veteran, Army Col. John Sutton (ret.) of Independence is the speaker. A reception follows.
The apartments are at 615 S. Huttig Ave. Independence.
