It was above 100 earlier in the week, but it should be reach just below 60 overnight tonight as the metro area enjoys several welcome days of cooler weather.

After a high this afternoon of 83, the overnight low is forecast to be 59. Other than a high of 90 on Sunday, the National Weather Service sees highs in the mid to upper 80s through Wednesday. Lows generally will be in the 60s.

The area might also get at least a little badly needed rain. There’s a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Sunday and Sunday evening and then a 30 percent chance Tuesday evening and a slightly better chance Wednesday and Wednesday night. No hazardous weather is in the forecast.
