Local artist Patricia Pummill-Betteridge was selected as the winner of The Longview Art and World Music Festival 2012 Poster Competition. Her acrylic painting of “Longview Barns” will appear on the advertising for the Oct. 5 to 7 festival.
Pummill-Betteridge’s work has appeared in numerous one person shows, group shows and juried shows. Her most recent accolades include her painting “First Amtrak Ride,” which received the Purchase Award as well as a Merit Award at the Heartland Juried Exhibition. She is a member of the Summit Art group; the Independence Art Association, Inc., where she is currently serving as president; the Greater Kansas City Art Association and the Blue Springs Art League. With these groups she shows work throughout the year at Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, St. Mary’s Medical Center and the Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce.
The poster design will be available for sale at the Summit Art information booth at the festival. The 5th Annual Longview Art and World Music Festival is Oct. 5 to 7 in the New Longview Shopping District in Lee’s Summit.
