The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Friday arrested a Lee’s Summit attorney wanted on first-degree murder and forgery charges in Camden County, Mo.

Ronda Montgomery, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, said Susan E. Van Note, 44, of Lee’s Summit was arrested at approximately 1:30 p.m. Friday after the Sheriff’s Office learned of a Camden County grand jury indictment on Van Note, an attorney at Van Note Law Offices in Kansas City.

Montgomery said that Van Note would be held at the Sheriff’s Office headquarters in Lee’s Summit for questioning. After completing questioning, she will be released to Camden County detectives for extradition.

Two other suspects in the same case were arrested in cooperation with the Johnson County (Kan.) Sheriff’s Office and the Shawnee (Kan.) Police Department. A woman, Stacy N. Dory, 43, and a man, Desre’ Dory, 42, are charged with second degree murder and forgery.
