A public meeting will take place next week to discuss proposed improvements to the sanitary sewer collection systems in Independence.

The meeting is from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the city's Water Pollution Control Control Department's Sewer Maintenance Division, 14909 E. Truman Road.

The affected project area includes East 34th Terrace South and South Bryn Mawr Drive (Adair Watershed); South Shrank Court and East 43rd Street South (Adair Watershed); East Susquehanna Drive at North Redwood Drive (Spring Branch Watershed); West Nickell Avenue at North Cottage Avenue (Mill Creek Watershed); and South Cochise Avenue at East 34th Street South (Crackerneck Watershed).

Engineering consultants and city staff will discuss sanitary sewer concerns with residents. Those who live within these project areas are encouraged to attend.
