The deadline to sign up to speak at Monday night's Independence City Council meeting is by noon Friday.
Some members of the community have expressed that they would like to speak before the council potentially votes on an amendment to an existing agreement with Jackson County regarding operations of the new regional animal shelter. That amendment has received mixed emotions in Eastern Jackson County.
