Mid-Continent Public Library has received an eReader Exploration Grant for $3,752.

The library will use the funds to purchase eReader devices and train staff, volunteers and patrons in a hands-on experience.

The grant was made available through the Missouri Secretary of State’s Office. The eReader exploration grants are funded by the Library Services & Technology Act through the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, which is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s 122,000 libraries and 17,500 museums.

In the 2013 Fiscal Year, the Missouri State Library has approved 94 grant applications, distributing $558,873 in federal awards to Missouri libraries.
