Lilly Oncology On Canvas, an art exhibition honoring the journeys people face when confronted by a cancer diagnosis is on display through June 24 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.
The free public exhibit includes select pieces of art from the 2010 Lilly Oncology On Canvas competition, with themes ranging from fear and hope, to loss and survival, to isolation and the embrace of family and friends.
The public is invited to a special exhibition from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. In conjunction with the exhibition, Centerpoint will celebrate the one-year anniversary of its Cancer Outpatient Clinic.
The clinic is a full-service medical oncology, hematology and radiation oncology practice that treats about 900 patients each month.
The hospital is at 19600 E. 39th St. The art exhibit is in the main lobby at Centerpoint.
