There's a slight chance of severe weather this afternoon and evening in the metro area.
The National Weather Service says there's a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, and most of the activity is expected to be northwest of Interstate 35. Any storms could bring high winds and hail.
It'll be hot today as well, with a high of 88 and an overnight low of 73.
Monday coud be one of the more uncomfortably hot days so far this year. The high is forecast at 92, and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. the heat index could reach 105, about the point at which authorities begin warning people to take extra caution about drinking plenty of water, staying out of the sun if possible abd avoidng overexertion.
Tuesday's high is 90, and Wednesday's is 86. There's a chance of thunderstorms Thursday.
