Three public hearings are scheduled for Tuesday’s Independence Planning Commission meeting.

It starts at 6 p.m. inside the council chambers at City Hall, 111 E. Maple Ave. The following items are scheduled on the agenda for a public hearing:

– Special use permit for Green Lantern Carwash: The case calls for a special use permit to run a car wash on U.S. 40, north of North Cochise Court.

– Zoning change by Mo-Kan Teamsters Apprenticeship: The case calls for a rezoning of the property east of Interstate 435 and north of East Wilson Road from two-family residential to business park zoning.

– Commissioners will consider another amendment to the city’s Unified Development Ordinance, which provides standards for land use and development throughout Independence. The latest change involves recreational vehicles and equipment parking.
