Robin Schluter is the chief executive officer at St.
Mary’s Medical Center.
1What advances has
St. Mary’s made
from last year? Our
cardiology program has
expanded its services to
include trans-radial catheterization.
Trans-radial catheterization
allows access to the heart
through an artery in your wrist
instead of through your groin
and significantly reduces the
recovery period down to two
hours from eight hours.
2Are there any new
programs? We offer an orthopedic navigator,
a nurse or physical therapist, to
coordinate your individual plan of care so that
you may reach recovery as soon and as smoothly
as possible. Our Navigators can
be reached at 655-5555.
3Are there any big
plans slated for the
future? This year, we
have a major renovation of all of
our operating room suites and
supporting services in order to
create an exceptional patient
experience.
4What is St. Mary’s
biggest asset? Nursing,
Nursing, Nursing. We have
a stable, committed, highly
skilled, compassionate nursing
team that gets nationally recognized patient satisfaction
scores for inpatient care.
5What does the hospital do to
enhance or help the community?
St. Mary’s is involved in and supports many
civic organizations and activities. We are always
willing to share health and wellness resources to
educate and promote a healthy community.
