Oak Grove, MO —

HANK MELHORN
Ward 1
Melhorn is serving his second term
as alderman. He previously served
on the city’s Board of Zoning
Adjustments and the city’s Park
Board. He currently represents the
board as liaison to the Planning
and Zoning Commission. Melhorn
has lived in Oak Grove since 1969, with his wife, Connie. The
couple raised a daughter and son in Oak Grove. They have
four grandchildren.

CECELIA MORGAN
Ward 1
Morgan was elected to the board
for the first time this past April.
Morgan taught American history
and psychology and was a guidance
counselor at Oak Grove High School
before retiring in 1997. Morgan has
a grown son and two grown
daughters and four grandchildren.

LARRY MOORE
Ward 2
Moore is serving his second term
on the board, and is a retired truck
driver and mechanic. Moore is a
25-year member of the
International Order of Odd
Fellows. Moore is a lifelong Oak
Grove resident. He and his wife,
Marsha have two grown sons and two grown daughters.
They have six grandchildren.

BRAD ALEXANDER
Ward 2
Alexander is serving his sixth term
on the Board of Aldermen, the
longest tenure of any board member.
The former Jackson County
Sheriff’s deputy now performs background
checks for federal agencies.
The Oak Grove native is a graduate
of Oak Grove High School and has a wife, Sue.

MIKE JOHNSTON
Ward 3
Johnston is serving his first recent
term, to which he was elected this
past April. He previously served on
the Board of Aldermen from 1998
to 2002. In addition, he served on
the Planning and Zoning
Commission from 1999 to 2004 and
was a member of the Park Board from 1977 to 1981. He is
married to Joni, and has three grown sons and two grown
stepsons. He has five grandchildren.

MIKE BAXTER
Ward 3
Baxter is serving the second year of
his first term on the board. He is a
former employee of Ford Motor
Co., where he worked for 20 years
in the Kansas City area. He also has
worked in the local and international
United Auto Workers, where he served 13 years with
the union in Detroit. Baxter also is a life member of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars, Masons and the Scottish Rite. He
and his wife, Shirla, have three adult sons and one adult
daughter. They have four granddaughters.
