Dallas Lee Thurber, 76, of Independence, Mo., passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008, at his residence.
Dallas was born August 11, 1931, in Patterson, Mo., and has been in Independence, Mo., for over 50 years. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during Korea, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division, and was a member of the Blue Springs Assembly of God.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marian; six children; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, in Grain Valley, Mo., with a visitation prior at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest with military honors in “Jackson County Veteran’s Field of Honor” in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, in Grain Valley, Mo.  (Arrangements: Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, 816-463-4030)
