Luke Aaron Wallace, 6 years old, of Lee’s Summit, Mo., passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Children’s Mercy Hospital from cancer. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Lee’s Summit, Mo., Tuesday, November 22, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., at Wayland Mennonite Church, Wayland, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be made in Luke’s honor to Children’s Tumor Foundation, MO Chapter, 1553 Amber Court, Arnold, MO 63010.
Luke was born November 6, 2003, in Olathe, Kan. He was a beautiful little boy with a great love for life and others. His favorite things included stars, Dora, Thomas the Train, Percy, crayons, markers and especially the color green. He loved his sister Abbey, who could always make him smile and laugh. He attended Pleasant Lea Elementary School in Mrs. Falkenberry’s Kindergarten class, which was an especially proud time in his life.
Luke’s magnetic personality and gentle spirit drew people together and fostered friendships that will last forever.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Lovice Wallace and Step-grandfather Richard Yeager.
He is survived by his mother Jamie Wallace, step-father Jason Yeager, father John Wallace, sister Abbey Wallace, half sister Alex Wallace, grandparents Royce and Carla Leichty, Paul Wallace, Maggie Yeager, special cousins Olivia and Hunter Leichty, numerous Aunts, Uncles, and best friend Ryan Pelzer.
