William F. (Bill) Bellamy, 76, of Sweet Springs, Mo., died Monday, November 2, 2009, at his farm.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 6, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial with full military rites will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the funeral home followed by a 40 & 8 presentation.  Born November 26, 1932, in Moniteau County, Mo., he was the son of the late Franklin J. Bellamy and Dorothy Moore Bellamy.  On August 13, 1982, he married Ruth Ann Moulder Smith who survives of the home. Bill was a 1951 graduate of Stover High School and in 1953 he joined the U.S. Navy, serving until 1957.  He spent most of his adult life in Sweet Springs and retired in 1985 from Lake City Ammunition, where he was a pipefitter and foreman for 25 years. He was a member of Sweet Springs American Legion Post 279, where he had served as post commander, a current member of the 40 & 8 Voiture 333 in Sedalia, a former member of the 40 & 8 Voiture 3 in Blue Springs, where he previously served as Chef De Gare.

In addition to his wife, Ruth, of the home, he is survived by three daughters: Cheryl Hager and husband Scott of Sweet Springs, Pam Barton and husband Don of Moore, OK, Lynn Peck and husband Greg of Independence; one son, Danny Bellamy of Alton, IL; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Earl Bellamy of Versailles; along with several nieces and nephews.
