Leslie Annette Ray, a resident of Kansas City North, Mo., was born August 1, 1961, in Kansas City, Mo., a daughter of Odell Ray and Linda Lou (Simmers) Sparks. She departed this life Monday, May 5, 2008, in Kansas City North, at the age of 46.

Miss Ray was a graduate of Berryville (Ark.) High School and attended College of the Ozarks in Hollister, Mo. Leslie worked as assistant chief deputy public administrator of Platte County, Mo. She attended Grace Baptist Church in Liberty, Mo., and was an avid nature lover who enjoyed fishing and being in the outdoors.

She is survived by her parents, Odell and Evelyn Ray of Berryville; her mother, Linda Sparks of Independence, Mo.; two brothers, Rob Cremeen and Gene Ray; three sisters Kim Langwasser, Robin Arnold and Denise Vanhook; her best friend, Barbara McFarland; and many other friends, co-workers and several relatives who loved her very much.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 9, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel, Berryville, 870-423-2170. The Revs. Doby Williams and Woody Fletcher will officiate. Interment will follow in the High Cemetery, under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service Inc. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 tonight at the chapel.
