Delmar C. Altis

Delmar C. Altis, 76, of Independence, Missouri passed away on July 23, 2008 at St. Mary’s Manor.

Visitation will be held from 9-10 am on Monday, July 28, 2008 at Meyers Funeral Chapel with funeral services at 10 am. Burial will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Delmar was born on December 15, 1931 in Mission, KS to Dock and Helen (Dawson) Altis. He served his country in Japan from 1952-1954, and was honorably discharged. Full military honors will be given at his burial. He was employed in the Dental Lab Industry for many years, obtaining the position of Manager. Delmar loved jazz and blues, gardening and fishing. He endured a lot of hardships and heart-break, but cherished every moment he spent with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and sons, Steven and Kenny. Delmar is survived by his: Daughters: Brenda Altis of Independence, MO., Judy Altis of Blue Springs, MO, Brother: Gerald & Dorothy Altis of Kansas City, MO, Grandson: Jordan Altis, Great-grandchildren: Jasmine and Kaden Altis
