Lee Etta Chancellor, 77, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at her home.
Lee Etta was born September 14, 1931, near Warrensburg, Mo., the daughter of Arthur M. Wilckens & Nellie E. (Fisher) Wilckens. She married LJ Chancellor of Sedalia, Mo., on June 25, 1949. In 1952 and 1955 they became the parents of two fine sons. In 1954 her search for spiritual knowledge began to be realized and in October of 1956 she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Christian Witnesses – in the “Garden of Eden.” This happened to be the name of the pool in Warrensburg! She has been faithfully serving as one of Jehovah’s Christian Witnesses since that time. Since early 1974 Blue Springs has been her home.
Her survivors include her husband of 60 years: LJ of the home; two sons and their wives: Dan & Janet Chancellor of Tampa, Florida, and Greg & Judy Chancellor of Blue Springs; one brother and his wife: Blaine & Helga Wilckens of Idaho; an uncle and aunt and numerous cousins.
The family will receive friends at Royer-Hays Funeral Home, 205 S.W. 17th St. Blue Springs, Mo., for visitation, Saturday July 11, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Blue Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Care Alternatives Hospice.
