John C. Gibson, Jr., 47, of Independence, MO, passed away July 13, 2008.
John was born October 24, 1960 in Kansas City, MO, to John and Carol (DeSmedt) Gibson. He served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Vermont. For the past four years, John has been employed as a janitor for Yellow Freight. John was a man who would do anything for any one.
He was a hard worker who will be missed for his tender heart and true “awesomeness”. He found joy in following the Royals, Mizzou, and the Chiefs in addition to watching all sports. More than anything, John loved his family, and will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
John was preceded in death by his father in 2006.
He is survived by his wife Gina Gibson; six children: Ricky (Danielle) Thurman, Andy (Jessie) Thurman, Megan Gibson, Johnna (Shaun) Mitchell, Kristen Gibson, and Brandon Gibson; seven grandchildren: Levi Chase Daniel Thurman, Aiden Hayes Thurman, Christopher Anthony Thurman, Rikki Nicole Thurman, and McKenzie, Connor and Aiden John Mitchell; his mother, Carol Gibson; two sisters: Kim (Bob) Buckley and Karen (Steve) Conn; his closest friends, Peggy and Michael Beyer; and a host of extended family and friends.
