Donna Marie Riffle, 51, of Independence, MO passed away Friday July 18, 2008. 

Donna was born to John and Naomi (Hofstetter) Riffle November 24, 1956. Donna was one of the first to enter the Special Neighbors program and became a more independent woman while living at Carriage House.  Later she moved to Marlow Place. She was a very conscientious employee at Southeast Enterprises and began attending Rainbow Options in Blue Springs. Donna has numerous medals from Special Olympics and bowling trophies from Strike and Spare. Donna was a member of Blue Ridge Blvd. Christian Church.  She loved to give hugs and shoulder rubs, she was always affectionate.

Donna is survived by her sisters, Rita Inglis, Debbie Wachs and husband Mike, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She will be missed by family friends, staff members from Special Neighbors and those who grew to know and love Donna.

Funeral services will be held noon with visitation from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday July 23 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel, Kansas City, 816-353-1218, Burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. The family requests contributions to the following charities; Special Neighbors, Southeast Workshop, Blue Ridge Christian Church, and Rainbow Options.
