Florence Wanita Eli, 84, KCMO, passed away July 12, 2008, at Centerpoint Medical Center.

Florence was born July 11, 1924, to Clyde L. and Mary P. Mawby in KCMO. She was a homemaker and Past President of American Legion Auxiliary Tirey J. Ford Unit 21, where she held many offices and chairmanships. Florence was also Past President of 5th District and a partner of Eight and Forty, and served as Salon 94’s Chapeau. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Cecil A. Eli; son, Allen Eli, and brothers Lee and Raymond Mawby.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Cecilia Eli and Arlene Choat and her husband Donald; grandson David Choat and his wife Abbie, great grandchildren, Lillyanna and Joshua Choat, sister Nadine McCullough; sister in law, Pat Mawby and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Monday, July 21, 2008, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcreat Road, KCMO, where an Eight and Forty service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, at the Park Lawn Chapel.
