Esther Frances (Bradley) Thomas, 79, Independence, Mo., passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, with her family at her bedside.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m., at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence. Entombment will be at Mount Washington Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wayside Waifs.

Esther was born March 27, 1933, in St. Joseph, Mo., the daughter of Roy and Mamie (McMillan) Bradley. She married Charles R. Thomas on July 22, 1956, and out of that union three children were born. Esther was employed with the Kansas City School District in the Van Horn cafeteria. She later transferred to the maintenance department until her retirement. Esther was an excellent cook, baker, and the best homemaker ever. She will be sadly missed. She was preceded in death by four brothers and her parents.

Survivors include her loving husband, Charles Thomas; sons, Ed Thomas and wife, Paula, and Brian Thomas; daughter, Cheryl Thomas and husband, Troy Beene; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and additional nieces, nephew and cousins.
