Lilburn L. (Bernie) Durbin

Lilburn L. (Bernie) Durbin, 66, Pittsburg, Mo., passed away on July 1, 2009.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Ann (Prell) Durbin of Pittsburg, Mo. and his children, Tom and Sue Waters of Independence, Mo., Michelle and Brett Guyton of Buckner, Mo., Shelly and Gordon Ives of Cole Camp, Mo., Allen and Linda Waters of Nixa, Mo., and Larry and Joanna Waters of Lee’s Summit, Mo., his sister Marilyn Jenkins of Tucson, AZ along with 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Chris Durbin of Cole Camp, Mo. Bernie grew up in Sibley, Mo., and graduated from Fort Osage HS in 1960. He worked in the tool and die industry and later co-owned several businesses.

Family night will be held on July 10, 7 p.m. at Hathaway Peterman Funeral Home in Wheatland, Mo. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of his life to be held in Independence, Mo. on July 11 at 1 p.m. at the residence of Tom and Sue Waters, 1248 S. McCoy.
