Tressa Minor Allen of Independence, Mo., passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at the Villages of Jackson Creek.

Tressa was born Aug. 28, 1913, in Danville, Ark., and lived her last several months at the Villages of Jackson Creek, and before that spent 10 years living at the Fountains in Independence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roxie and John Millard, three brothers and two sisters.

Tressa’s extensive family included her sons, M. Lee Minor and wife, Judy, and Robert G. Minor and wife, Sue; stepsons, Lawrence E. Allen Jr. (deceased) and wife, “Dot,” Jerry Allen and wife, Ruby, Jack Allen and wife, Mary Helen, and Andrew Kugler and wife, Ann; stepdaughter, Norma Kugler Craven (deceased); 18 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Tressa was much loved and will be truly missed by her family and friends. She would like to thank them all for the part they played in her life, for it has been enriched by their love, trust and support.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, at Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E. 39th St., Independence. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be at Mount Washington Forever Cemetery, Independence. The family requests memorial contributions be made in her name to Christ United Methodist Church, which played a major influence in her life, and/or Crossroads Hospice, 9237 Ward Parkway, Suite, 300, Kansas City, Mo. 64114. Arrangements are under the direction of Sheil Colonial Chapel, Raytown, 816-353-6555.
